Tutus and Ties.

Lindsay and I have been friends since my senior year of high school. We lived together for a year in college. We got engaged in the same week. We got married 6 weeks apart. AND we had babies 19 days apart.  

Since we planned to be in KY for the Run The Bluegrass Half Marathon (the hardest run EVER!) we thought it would be a great idea to celebrate our 2-Year-Olds with at Tutus and Ties party. 

Lindsay had the idea for the theme and it was too perfect for a little curly headed girl and spunky little boy! Aunt Katie helped with the photo props and banner and Lindsay did an amazing job planning. It was a blast!

It is a Good Friday.

We're in KY for a whirl wind tour that includes a half marathon, birthday party, and Easter with family. 

With such a busy weekend, we made sure to kick it off with a little Easter Egg dying this morning. Want to make sure we have something for the bunny to hide!

Airplane Birthday Party.

Wilson turned 2 yesterday and over the weekend we had a "little" party with our friends. I tried very hard not to go "all out" this year like we did for is 1st birthday. But it still ended up being a house full of people, food, noise and fun. 

This year's theme was "Airplanes." 

I ordered this cardboard rocket ship from Amazon.com. It sits on it's side and has wings, so I figured it was close enough to an airplane. Plus the kids could color it! Gooma was a big help in making the clouds. Bapa and Daddy put together many mini gliders for decorations.

Close up shot of the mantle with planes flying in the clouds. I posted a photo of this on instagram and with the filter I used, our friend Katie told me that she thought I had totally lost it and rented a smoke machine. Thankfully I'm not totally off my rocker!

We added clouds and gliders to all of the light fixtures.

Wilson was excited when he woke up from his nap. Here he is checking out all of the snacks as we began to set them out.

Seriously, somebody feed this kid!

The cupcakes were frosted blue with little white frosting clouds. I used the same gliders here as on the mantle and in the light fixtures. I think I got 72 for $5!

Wilson had a great time celebrating his 2nd birthday. He got so many airplane  and sports related toys and gifts. He hasn't stopped playing! Thanks to all of our friends and family for celebrating with us!
We can't wait to go to KY next week and celebrate with our sweet pal, Zella!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Wilson has been into baseball for about 3 months now. He makes sure to play catch with Michael every night before bed and almost every day he asks me to "sing the ball game song." 

Today was a gorgeous spring weather sneak peek and we had an impromptu playdate with Colin and crew. Lucky for Wilson, Colin has all the fun toys, including a tee, soft baseballs and a big blue plastic bat.

Big Airplane!

We live very close to a busy airport so W gets to see airplanes every single day. We spend most of every car ride spotting planes either taking off or coming in for a landing. I often here "Mommy, I see it!" coming from the backseat.

A couple of weeks ago we decided to spend a windy and chilly Sunday morning at the Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum. We told Wilson the night before, that we would take him to see air planes and rocket ships. He was very excited!

His feet didn't even touch the ground!

"Daddy, BIG AIRPLANE!"

Plenty of buttons to push!

We lasted for 1.5 hours. That's a lifetime in toddler years!
